Presenting “The New Conversation with Your Client” at IPIC

Kathryn Szymczyk, Director of SC&C | Igniting Your Practice, together with Denise Lacombe, Director, Legal at AstraZeneca Canada Inc. will be addressing the plenary session at the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s 91st Annual Meeting Oct. 11-13, 2017 in Niagara Falls, Canada with a presentation on attracting and working with in-house counsel. The session will be moderated by Arnold Ceballos, Senior Legal Counsel, Intellectual Property at Scotiabank. The topic will focus in on how IP Attorneys can and should adapt their approach to their clients and potential clients to prosper in an increasingly competitive environment.

Kathryn who practiced IP law herself for 12 years before founding business development coaching and consulting firm SC&C, notes, “In today’s market, we can no longer afford to assume our relevance simply on the basis of our technical expertise.  We need a shift in mindset in order to continually and consistently win and retain loyal clients and grow”.  In terms of what the IPIC audience can expect from the plenary session, she states, “Practitioners will no doubt benefit from hearing about the realities that in-house counsel face today and what they expect and desire to receive from the conversations with their existing and prospective outside counsel.  We will also discuss what successful lawyers and law firms are doing internationally to set themselves apart from the competition in this regard.”

The session, entitled “Talking to Your Client – The New Conversation” will take place on October 13, 2017 at 1:30.

We hope to see you there!
